The boys & girls have been together for 34 years during which time they have become well known in the East Midlands as Ock'n'Dough playing a mixture English, Latvian and American roots music including songs from Northamptonshire.

The band was formed in 1985 by Janis, Robin and Bob. Regular club appearances in the Midlands were followed by festivals in Barnard Castle, Chippenham, Coleshill, Eastbourne, Fylde, Crawley,Broadstairs and Whittlesea Straw Bear and many other venues as well as local radio broadcasts and broadcasts on Radio 2. In the 90s the band became part of the growing cajun and zydeco dance scene and joined by percussionist Dace Fisher became known as Doughboy Zydeco and latterly Doughboy Zydecajun. As the band moved into its third decade the band has been extended with Jo Zakis on clarinet and tenor sax to give the band a broader sound, at the end of 2008 Jo took over calling duties for ceilidhs and barn dance.
